We don't run hotels. We know which ones to put you in.
Tell us your budget and what you actually care about — a fort view, a lift, quiet, or a pool — and we'll shortlist real options and make the booking.

A shortlist, not a search engine
You can compare a hundred listings yourself. What you cannot do from another city is tell which heritage haveli has three lovely rooms and nine dark ones, which rooftop closes in January, or which desert camp quietly moves guests to an overflow site on busy weekends.
So we do it the other way round. You tell us the budget, the dates and what matters. We come back with two or three properties we would put our own family in, say plainly what is wrong with each, and book the one you pick.
We book across the whole range — 3-star, 4-star and 5-star hotels, heritage havelis and desert resorts. We don't list hotel names or partner logos here, because the right property changes with your dates and we would rather match you to one than advertise it.
Five kinds of night in Jaisalmer
Most trips end up combining two of these — a night or two in town, and one out at the dunes.
3-star hotels
Around the fort and Gandhi Chowk
Clean, comfortable and well run, with hot water, air-conditioning and usually a rooftop with a fort view. The sensible choice when the budget matters more than the lobby.

Old city fringe and Gadisar road
Smaller properties with more character and better service — often owner-run, quieter than the fort lanes, and easy to reach by car.

Outside the old city
Full-service hotels with pools, spas and proper restaurants. The trade-off is a ten-minute drive to the fort each time.

Inside and just below the fort
Converted merchant houses with carved stone courtyards and jharokha windows, from 3-star to 5-star. Rooms vary a lot inside one building — worth asking which one you are getting.

Sam and Khuri, 40 – 50 km west
From comfortable Swiss tents to luxury resorts with attached bathrooms, room service and a stage for the evening programme. This is where you sleep if you want the dunes at sunrise.

A per-night number and your dates are enough. Two or three real options come back, with what’s wrong with each one said out loud.
Four addresses, four different trips
- Inside the fort
- Stone lanes, rooftop breakfasts, temple bells at dawn. Vehicles cannot reach most doors, so you walk the last stretch with your bags — and there is an ongoing conservation case for keeping the fort's water load down.
- Just below the walls
- Where most of the good heritage havelis are. You get the fort as a view rather than as an address, cars can reach you, and you are still walking distance from everything.
- Gadisar & the old city edge
- Quieter, greener in winter, and a short walk to the lake at sunrise. Good for longer stays and for anyone travelling with family.
- Out at the dunes
- Sam and Khuri, where the camps and desert resorts are. This is a one-night stay, not a base — the city is an hour away in each direction.
Six questions worth asking
Ask these of us, or of any hotel you're booking directly. They are the ones that decide whether a beautiful building is also a good night's sleep.
- Which room, specifically — heritage buildings vary hugely floor to floor
- Whether the room has an outside window, or opens onto a courtyard
- How many steps to reach it, if that matters to anyone in your group
- Whether hot water is round the clock or morning only
- Whether the rooftop restaurant is still serving in your season
- How far a car can actually get to the door
Choosing where to sleep
Send your dates and a budget per night. You'll get real options back, not a list of everything with a vacancy.
Jaisal Tours is a travel agency, not a hotel operator. We book 3-star to 5-star properties and hold no ownership in any of them — see contact to ask anything specific.

Tell us the budget. We'll tell you the truth.
Dates, how many rooms, and a per-night number you're comfortable with. Two or three honest options come back the same day.
